Youth team showing real progress!

By Staff Writer.

Ngezi Platinum Under 19 have been one of the more encouraging stories in the Northern Region Soccer League this season. Their current 2026 record shows 18 matches played, 7 wins, 8 draws, 3 losses, 21 goals scored, 13 conceded, and 29 points, which puts them 4th on the table in the latest standings.

That is a strong sign of growth for a young side. It shows a team that is not just competing, but also learning how to stay organized, pick up results, and remain in the conversation near the top.

Why supporters should be excited

From a Ngezi supporter’s point of view, this is exactly what development football should look like. The youth team is building a reputation for discipline and resilience, and the current form suggests they are becoming harder to beat as the season goes on.

There is also a clear football identity beginning to emerge. A record like 21 goals for and only 13 against tells you the side is balanced, competitive, and capable of doing damage without losing structure.

More than just results

Good youth football is not only about the log position. It is about preparing players for the demands of senior football, and this Ngezi side appears to be gaining valuable experience in a tough Division 1 environment.

The positive comments around the team and coach Farai Tawachera also suggest that the work behind the scenes is paying off, with the squad receiving recognition for its performances and consistency. For supporters, that is reassuring because it shows the project is moving in the right direction.

Supporter’s view

As a staff writer and a supporter, I would say this season is proof that the future is alive at Ngezi. The Under 19s are not perfect, but they are building something solid, and 4th place in a competitive league is a real achievement.

The challenge now is to keep pushing, keep believing, and finish strongly. If this group maintains its current standard, Ngezi will not only have a promising youth team, but a real pipeline for the first team in the seasons ahead.
