U19 emback on their Northern Region journey

By Staff Writer

At the heart of Mhondoro mining town, something special is brewing at the Ngezi Platinum Stars academy. This year, the club has entrusted its future to Coach Farai Tawachera, now the new Head of Development and second assistant coach for the senior team. For the young talents in the U19 squad, competing in the Northern Region Soccer League, this is more than a promotion for their mentor; it is a statement of intent. They are not just a youth team; they are the first line of a production line designed to feed the “Madamburo” first team, carrying the hopes of a club known for trusting its youngsters.

Leading a squad of determined teenagers, Coach Tawachera knows the task ahead is immense. The NRSL is a battleground where seasoned men test raw youth, but Ngezi’s history shows this U19 side is more than capable of holding its own. With a philosophy built on discipline and energy, Tawachera is molding players like the next Leslie Kashitigu or Takunda Benhura, young stars who recently made the leap from this U19 setup to become household names in the Premier Soccer League. For this new crop of 2026, the dream is clear: conquer the Northern Region and pave their own path to the big stage. Let us continue to support the boys!!
